- 3 ×3 inches – 7.5×7.5 cm Origami paper or any cute thin paper like scrapbook paper.
- Strips of paper with messages or treats {candies}. You can snag my secret messages here.
STEP 2: FOLDING PAPER
Origami fortune cookie folding begins with one square. These step-by-step instructions will walk you through the process.
Take one square with the pattern facing down and fold on both diagonal axis matching corners and edges. Crease well.
Fold right and left points to meet center crease line.
Unfold and take one corner and fold to meet center line.
Fold back and you will have something like this:
That’s it.
Repeat with the other two fortune origami squares.
STEP 3: ASSEMBLING THE FORTUNE COOKIES
Now you have to insert the two points of one piece between the folded side and the blank one.
Make sure it goes all the way, so it creates a rhombus.
Repeat with the third piece but here you are going to leave only one peace out so you can insert the message or the treats.
Next, insert it through the gap and finally close the last point.
Origami Fortune Cookie all ready!
There you go! One super cute Origami Fortune Cookie!!!
STEP 4: FINDING THE MESSAGE
Lastly, to see what’s inside, just press up both sides and it will pop open.
Your message will probably pop up or just take it out.
You can close it back =D over and over again.
Pressing up 2 sides of the origami fortune cookie makes it pop open and you cann see the message
After I finished the first origami fortune cookie I got hooked and made about ten of these and place them on a cute dish and put on my table.
