Equipment

  • Matching thread
  • Ruler
  • Scissors or rotary cutter
  • Sewing Machine

Ingredients

  • 1 strip of Fabric A –4 and 3/4 inches x 20 and 1/2 Inches – fabric of your choice.
  • 1 strip of Fabric B – 4 and 1/4 inches x 19 and 1/2 inches – fabric of your choice.
  • 1 strip of batting A – 2 x 20 inches – felt or fleece work too.
  • 1 strip of batting B – 1 and 1/2 x 19 inches – felt or fleece work too.

Instructions

  • You will use fabric A with a strip of batting A and fabric B with a strip of batting B.
  • Fold fabric A and fabric B longwise right side together and stitch each one along the long side.
  • Turn them over.
  • Press making sure the seam is in the middle of each strip.
  • Then insert the strip of batting inside each fabric tube.
  • Fold inwards each end of each strip as if you were making a hem and stitch to close them.
  • Now put both strips together as centered as possible lengthwise and widthwise (you’ll notice one is slightly narrower than the other).
  • Make sure the seam sides are facing each other.
  • Pin in place.
  • Stitch each long side leaving just about 1/8 inches seam allowance. It’s almost touching the edges.
  • It’s better if you use a small and tight stitch. I used pressure 3 of 4 and stitch 3 of 4 on a Singer machine.
  • Leave both ends open.
  • Insert camera strap. It should go from leather end to leather end in the case of Nikon and Canon Straps.
  • This may vary from one camera strap to another so measure them first to make sure my measurements fit your camera strap.
  • There you have it! Super easy, right?

Notes

Double-check with your specific camera strap measurements so you can adjust sizes as needed.
