About Camila Rojas

Hi! and Welcome…
Iโm Camila Rojas, most people call me Cami. Iโm the creator behind The Crafting Nook and the founder of TCN Design Studio.
Iโm a graduated graphic designer turned full-time blogger and web designer, and creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Iโm a graduated graphic designer turned full-time blogger and web designer, and creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Some of my earliest memories are of drawing, cutting, gluing, and building things from scratch. Making things by hand has always been how I relax, think, and express myself.
Years later, that love for creating still lives at my craft table, just now inside my own home.
Education and Professional Background
I hold a bachelorโs degree in Graphic Design from Rafael Belloso Chacรญn University in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where I specialized in advertising and web design and graduated with honors.
After university, I spent ten years working in renowned international advertising agencies and a web design agency.
Those years shaped how I approach visual communication, structure information, and explain ideas clearly, skills that influence both my DIY tutorials and my work with creative bloggers today.

Learning to Create with What I Had
I moved frequently when I was younger and often lived on tight budgets.
That experience taught me to be resourceful and creative. When I couldnโt afford something, I learned how to make it. When I needed money, I created things to sell, from handmade cards to homemade treats.
That mindset still guides how I approach crafting: practical, adaptable, and grounded in real life.
As seen in:
How I Approach Crafting
I donโt follow strict crafting rules or fancy professional methods. Most of what I know comes from years of hands-on experience, experimenting, adjusting, and learning what actually works in real homes.
I craft in a small space, with everyday tools, and without chasing perfection. Some projects are simple, others are more involved, but all of them are rooted in practicality, flexibility, and enjoyment. I believe creativity should feel possible, even when space, time, or budget is limited.
Motherhood and How TCN Came To Be
After leaving Venezuela in 2010, my husband and I lived in several countries before settling in Spain. When I became pregnant with our daughter, life took an unexpected turn. Preparing for her first birthday on a very limited budget brought me back to crafting in a meaningful way. Everything was handmade, simple, and created with love.
Friends began requesting handmade pieces, and that encouragement led me to start sharing my projects online. What began as a creative outlet slowly grew into The Crafting Nook.
So whether youโre trying to explore easy crafts or more complex DIY projects, there is something here for everyone – from my own spin on my favorite classics, like jewelry making, to easy sewing projects or hands-on furniture redos – fun and stress-free!
