Faux Pallet Christmas Sign and Christmas Mantel Reveal

Oh my! I finally made it! I finished my Mantel. It’s simple but so full of love! I crafted every single piece and I so love how it turned out. I wanted to add a rustic touch but I couldn’t find a really nice pallet in time so I figured I could still have one so I made this faux pallet Christmas Sign. Even though it is not real wood, it actually adds a little something that I love!

My Mantel is not really a fireplace. We have a fireplace but we haven’t made the space useful for mantels. So, for now I’m using the entrance table that is actually a Shoe rack from Ikea LOL. Anything goes right? LOL

Ok so, for the faux pallet Christmas sign you only need a Styrofoam board, glue, good quality print paper and find a nice pallet texture, I find mine through Google but you can always use sites like CG Textures or many others, I particularly love CGTextures. For this project I just loved this Wood texture I found at Desktop Wallpapers 4 Me. They have textures in really high resolution!

For the Sentiment, I used freepik’s illustrations they have awesome resources! If you want this same pallet sign just click here to snag it.

In the future I’ll make a real wood sign but for now I’m happy with how this one turned out!

So first step: printing the design. I made it tabloid {double letter size} so I printed it in half. Make sure you leave extra where both parts should join and always take in consideration the printer margins, which varies from printer to printer.

Once I got it printed, I only cut the white margins from the sides that would be joined. Made them match and glue them. You can either glue them or just use adhesive tape in the back.

Then I glued my sign to the Styrofoam board and cut removing the white margin. This way you get a clean and realistic finish.

That’s it! The sign is ready to rock!

I wasn’t sure If I wanted it on the wall or just laying in the mantel. Mom liked it better laying in the mantel so I leave it there. This sign is so light that with a couple pieces of adhesive tape you can hang it in the wall. No holes, how cool!!!
