Tenderloin Steaks with Red Wine-Mushroom Sauce
Yummmm! I’m spending some time in my mom’s house and she is an amazing cook. I love {almost} everything she makes. I have to admit that I’m learning a thing or two here LOL. A few days ago I joined her in the kitchen and when she told me how she wanted to make the tenderloin, I just had to grab my cam and start shooting and publish it! With a few steaks, red wine and mushrooms, she made an amazing sauce!
Tenderloin Steaks with Red Wine-Mushroom Sauce
My mom is probably posting this recipe in Spanish soon so those of you who speak Spanish can use the translator for now or wait a bit for it. And yes!, my mom has a blog too LOL Programando la vida {Programming Life}. She shares tons of household tips and recipes!
We are going to be posting delicious recipes in both blogs for a while, since she is the brain and I’m kitchen assistant and the photographer LOL, we get to share in both languages, how cool is that??? Get the recipe in Spanish here.
Here is the recipe.
Ingredients
- 16 ounce beef tenderloin
- Salt
- Black pepper
- 10-12 sliced mushrooms
- 1 chopped medium onion
- 1 chopped tomato
- 1 cup dry red wine
- Parsley2 tablespoons butter
- 10 ounces of light cream.
Slice the Tenderloins about 1/2 inch thick each piece and Sprinkle steaks with salt and pepper.
Heat a large nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Add the butter. When it is melted add the steaks; cook 2-3 minutes on each side or until it’s well sealed. This is good to keep the steak juicy. Put the steaks on a plate and stir into the Pan the wine and mix with all the steak remaining.
Then add the onions, tomatoes and the parsley. Mix well for 1 minute and add the mushrooms. Cook for about 5-10 minutes or until browned and the liquid evaporates a little.
Then add the steaks back to the pan. Make sure not to pile them. Let them have their own space and cover with the sauce. Let it cook for 5 more.
Serve stir some light cream on top and enjoy!

Hola Camila! I’m not big on steak as an everyday food as they do back in my country, I’m more of a white meat type of gal, BUT once a month I NEED to have steak, lol…must be the Neanderthal in me, Ha! and the best and pretty much only way I have them is with mushrooms, I love your recipe. 5 Stars girl! Reminds me of the food I used to eat while back at home with my mom and dad! Thank You for sharing it with us! YUMM
What a delicious looking meal! The sauce look incredible!
