These free Fall chalkboard art printables are perfect if you love cozy seasonal decor and want an easy way to decorate your home for autumn. It’s no secret that I LOVE Fall. After a long, hot summer, I’m always more than ready for cooler days, changing colors, and finally pulling out the seasonal decor again.

These printables were originally created for a little entryway project I had in mind, and I loved them enough that I decided to share both designs here. They’re available in US Letter and A4 sizes, so you can print the version that works best for you.

Why I Made These Fall Printables

I made these designs around some of my favorite things about Fall. Crisp apples, autumn leaves, cinnamon, hot cocoa, pumpkin spice, hay rides, and all those little seasonal things that make this time of year feel so different.

I was also completely in love with the chalkboard look when I made these. White lettering on a dark background has such a pretty contrast, and it gave me a way to play with the style even though I wasn’t doing much actual chalkboard painting at the time.

There are two different designs included, so you can choose your favorite or use both together.

You’ll get:

  • 2 Fall chalkboard art designs
  • US Letter size, 8.5 x 11 inches
  • A4 size, 210 x 297 mm
  • Portrait orientation
  • High-resolution files at 300 dpi
  • Black chalkboard-style background with white typography and illustrations
  • Free for personal use

How I Recommend Printing Them

You can print these at home with a regular inkjet or laser printer, or take the files to a local print shop if you prefer.

For framed prints, I like using a good-quality matte paper or lightweight cardstock. Something around 160 to 200 gsm works nicely because it has a little more body than regular printer paper without being too thick for most home printers.

When printing:

  1. Open the Letter or A4 file that matches your paper.
  2. Choose Actual Size or 100% scale in your printer settings.
  3. Select a high-quality or best-quality print setting if your printer offers one.
  4. Print on matte paper or lightweight cardstock for a nicer finish.
  5. Let the ink dry before handling.
  6. Trim the edges only if your frame or project requires it.

If you don’t have a good home printer, a local print shop can print them for you on heavier matte paper.

Easy Ways to Use Your Fall Chalkboard Printables

The simplest way to use these is to frame them and add them to your Fall decor.

A few other ideas I like:

  1. Wall art: Dress up your walls with Fall-inspired chalkboard art by printing it out and putting it in a frame. It’s a simple way to make pretty decorations for your walls. Place them in your living room, dining area, or hallway to give your home a seasonal look.
  2. You can use the printables to create unique gift tags. Just print them in a smaller size and then cut them out to use as tags. Make a small hole and use a ribbon or string to attach them to your gifts to make them extra special. Great for celebrating anniversaries.
  3. You can create your own coasters by covering printed designs with clear contact paper to protect them. Try cutting them into a four-sided shape with equal sides. With this method, you can get coasters that are designed just for you. These cute and pretty coasters will protect your tables.
  4. Scrapbooking and crafts: Use the printed designs in your holiday scrapbooking projects or other crafts. You can use them as pictures for your computer or phone, things to make a place look pretty, or inspiration for your own projects.
  5. Create custom aprons: Use special paper with chalkboard art designs that can be ironed onto the aprons. Follow the instructions to transfer the designs onto plain aprons. You can have adorable aprons made just for you or to give as gifts to your favorite bakers or chefs.
  6. Pillow covers: Put the chalkboard art designs on transfer paper that can be ironed on, and then stick them onto plain pillow covers. This is a simple and cheap way to make your pillows look appropriate for the season and adorable.
  7. Make the printables smaller so they can fit on small jars or other decorative containers. Use a sticky substance like glue or tape to attach them together and create custom covers. You can put candies, jams you make yourself, or small special items in the jars and use them to make your space look pretty or give as presents.

I especially like them in simple wood frames because the warm wood looks really pretty against the black chalkboard background.

Letter or A4: Which Size Should You Use?

Use the version that matches the paper size you normally buy.

US Letter measures 8.5 x 11 inches and is commonly used in the United States.

A4 measures 210 x 297 mm and is the standard paper size in Spain, most of Europe, and many other countries.

Using the correct file keeps your printer from resizing the artwork unexpectedly or adding strange margins.

Can You Print These in Smaller Sizes?

Yes.

These files are provided at 300 dpi for good-quality printing at their intended Letter and A4 sizes, but you can also reduce them if you want to use the designs for a smaller frame, card, gift tag, or paper craft.

I recommend doing a quick test on regular printer paper first so you can check the size before using your nicer paper.

I would avoid enlarging them significantly beyond their original dimensions because raster artwork can start losing sharpness when scaled up too much.
