No Campfire Required S’mores
Hello everyone! I am excited to be back sharing my No Campfire Required S’mores. I’m Mary Ellen, I blog at Recipes Food and Cooking. These are so easy to make and you can be eating a delicious dessert that always reminds me of my childhood. We always toasted marshmallows when we raked the leaves in the fall. Now you can make s’mores without making a campfire or burning leaves. Did I tell you that in less than 10 minutes it is ready to eat?

I used Golden Grahams cereal in place of the graham crackers, then made a simple chocolate ganache with a Hershey Bar and topped it all with mini marshmallows. It couldn’t be easier.
The first recorded version of the S’more recipe was found in the publication Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts of 1927. Marshmallow was first used by the early Egyptians using an extract from the marshmallow plant for treating sore throats. In the early 19th century the formula was changed by the French to make the make the sweet treats we have today using gelatin and lots of whipping.
