Mother’s Day DIY Spa Kit Gift Tutorial
This special gift box is a way to show Mom how much you appreciate her love and dedication to your family. As soon as she opens the box, she will be taken on a journey of relaxation and pampering.
The labels on the box were printed with care using my super cute Munbyn thermal printer. With this printer, making custom labels is so easy and fun. You can add a personal touch by creating your own label designs, you can download and use mine or you can use one of the hundreds of templates they have.
I created my own set of labels to personalize each item in the spa kit and also to specify scents, and specific components. Also, I created some cute decorative labels for the box. One with a delicate and heartfelt sentiment to put on the top of the box and another one with a touch of humor describing the instructions and the contents of the kit.
Making this spa kit not only will make mom happy but it was also so fun to make. Parts of it were purchased and others were completely homemade like the bath salts and sugar scrub, which makes it even more special.
This is a special present that shows how much you care, a way to say thank you that really means a lot to her.
This Mother’s Day, give Mom a DIY spa kit made just for her to help her relax and feel refreshed. In the end, she should have only the best.
This DIY Spa Kit contains:
- Homemade Bath Salts โ especially those made with a blend of sea salt, Epsom salts, Himalayan salts, baking soda, and essential oils, help relaxation and alleviate stress, reduce inflammation and relieve muscle aches and pains, draw out impurities and toxins from the skin, leaving it feeling clean, refreshed, and rejuvenated, improves sleep, helps with skin hydration and softening, and mood enhancement. You can find the full Rose Bath Salts recipe here.
- Homemade Body Sugar Scrub โ crafted with simple ingredients like coconut oil, plain white sugar, and essential oils, is a gentle yet effective exfoliant that helps to slough away dead skin cells, revealing smoother, brighter skin underneath. It deeply moisturizes and softens the skin, stimulates circulation, and it can have a calming effect on the mind and body. Depending on the oils used, a sugar body scrub can help to uplift the mood, promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, or even boost energy levels, enhancing overall well-being. You can find the full Lavender-Eucalyptus Sugar Scrub recipe here.
- Mineral Clay Face Mask โ highly beneficial for your skin because they clean your pores, make them smaller, and remove dead skin. These masks clean your skin by removing dirt, oil, and toxins, making it feel fresh, smoother and rejuvenated.
- Strawberry Vaseline Lip Balm โ provides long-lasting hydration, keeping your lips soft and smooth. The strawberry scent adds a delicious fragrance while the Vaseline creates a protective barrier that helps to soothe and nourish dry, chapped lips, leaving them looking and feeling healthier.
- Scented Candles โ promotes a calming atmosphere, helping to reduce stress and tension. Additionally, the scents from the candles can further enhance the sensory experience, promoting feelings of relaxation and well-being.
- Soft Bath Sponge.
- Soft Headband.
How to make a Relaxing Spa Kit gift.

- 2 Medium Clear Jars – Mason jars work too.
- 1 small Clear Cute Jar
- Face mask cream โ your momโs favorite or that you think sheโll love.
- Lip Balm โ I used strawberry Vaseline lip balm because I know my mom loves it. You can choose your momโs favorite. If you want to label it like I did, choose a lip balm that comes in little jars.
- Scented candles โ I picked one in a cup and one rose-shaped. You can use the ones your mom loves the most.
- 1 bath headband.
- 1 Soft Sponge.
- Homemade Bath Salts โ You can find a full and easy bath salt tutorial here.
- Homemade Sugar Scrub โ You can find a full and easy sugar scrub tutorial here.
- Sticker labels โ I used thermal sticker labels Munbyn 4×6 inches white label and watercolor wreath scalloped 2.3×2.3 inches.
- Label Design โ I created some super cute Mother’s Day Spa Kit labels that you can snag right here!
Tools:
- Scissors
- A Printer โ I used my Munbyn bluetooth label printer.
Instructions:
Step1: Prep work
Prepare your Sugar Scrub and your bath salts and set aside.
Remove price tags and labels.
Clean all the jars and items that you are going to personalize with labels.
Step 2: Prepare the homemade treats
Fill each medium jar with bath salts and sugar scrub.
Close the jars and secure them well. This is mainly because they are likely to be laid down inside the box.
Depending on the packaging of your face mask, open it and pour it into the small clear jar. Close it well too.
Set them aside.
Step 3: Print and apply the spa kit item labels
Print twice the sugar scrub, bath salts, and face mask labels. As I mentioned earlier, I’m using this cute little thermal label printer but you can use your home printer too, it just won’t bet so cute.
If you like these cute designs, make sure you grab your Spa Kit Labels here.
Print once the scented candle and lip balm.
Stick one label on the lid and another one on the body scrub and bath salts jar as centered as you can.
On the side of your scented candle cup, stick the label as centered as possible.
For the face mask, since it’s smaller than the labels, what I did was printing it to the right size and cutting around the design with a scissor.
Then proceed to stick the label on the lid and on the face mask jar as centered as you can.
Stick the label on the lid of the lip balm jar.
Step 4: Prepare the kit gift box
Inside your box place a layer of shredded paper. Add enough to keep your items protected.
Start placing all your spa treats in jars inside making sure they fit well and donโt bounce around.
Lastly put the sponge and headband in a way that fills any space and protects to top side of the box.
If you still have room in your box and donโt have anything else to include, add more shredded paper.
Before closing the box, if you are using my free labels, print the label that says Happy Motherโs Day or Love you mom and stick it to the top of the box lid on the inside for an extra touch.
Close your gift box.
Step 5: Decorate and secure your box.
Print the sentiment label and the instructions/content label once each.
Print the labels Happy Motherโs Day and Love you Mom once each too. Feel free to print more if you want to add it to other places.
On the top of the box place the sentiment label as centered as possible.
Turn the box over so the side with the closing is facing you.
Place the instructions/content label between the side and the bottom leaving the Happy Motherโs Day on the side and the instructions/content on the bottom.
PLEASE NOTE: The instructions/content label only works if the box has full-height lid, in other words, boxes that the lid goes all the way down to the bottom.
Add a couple more labels around the sides of the box. I put a Happy Mother’s Day one on one side and Love You Mom on the other.
Your Relaxing Spa Kit is done and ready to go!
Iโm sure that if your mom loves being pampered, this spa kit will be the perfect gift and she will love your gesture so much.

Why give mom this DIY Spa kit instead of anything we can buy out there?
Choosing to give Mom a DIY spa kit instead of purchasing a pre-made one allows you to tailor every aspect to your Mom’s preferences, from the scents and ingredients to the packaging and presentation. This personal touch shows Mom that you’ve put thought and effort into creating a gift that is uniquely hers.
With a DIY spa kit, you have the flexibility to include Mom’s favorite scents, ingredients, and products, ensuring that every item is perfectly suited to her tastes and needs. This level of customization creates a truly one-of-a-kind gift that she won’t find anywhere else.
Handcrafting a gift demonstrates your thoughtfulness and care in a way that store-bought gifts simply can’t match. It shows that you’ve taken the time to consider what would bring her joy and relaxation, making the gift even more meaningful and special.
Above all, giving Mom a DIY spa kit is a gesture of love and appreciation that speaks volumes. It’s a way to show her how much she means to you and how grateful you are for everything she does, making it a Mother’s Day gift she’ll treasure and remember forever.
