Turkey Sausage and Corn Pasta

My daughter and I love fusilli and farfalle pasta {those cute little bow ties}. I donโ€™t know if that happens to you that you keep the remaining pasta so at some point there are like 10 different boxes with just a little bit of pasta in each.

Well, that happens to me very often so, this time I mixed these 2 so we both were happy LOL

Ingredients:

  • Onion {chopped} โ€“ I used fresh onions as it adds a special flavor.
  • Turkey sausages {sliced} โ€“ I used one package of 5 Turkey Smoked Sausages. These turkey hotdogs are delicious on their own and they are a great addition to this dish!
  • Sweet corn – I used canned sweet corn, but you can use frozen too.
  • Your favorite Pasta โ€“ I used fusilli and farfalle.
  • Heavy cream
  • Garlic clove
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Parmesan cheese *Optional

Directions:

  1. In a large pot boil water and start making your pasta as per package instructions. Then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat a large nonstick pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the butter. When it is melted add the onion, garlic, and salt.
  4. Cook for about 3 minutes or until itโ€™s getting transparent.
  5. Then add the sausage. Fry lightly until browned

Serving and Storing

Serving. This recipe is best enjoyed the minute the sauce is ready. In fact, this is when all Italian-type pasta dishes taste their best!

Storing. You can definitely store leftovers, but youโ€™ll likely need to add some more light cream to loosen the sauce again as you reheat the pasta. Leftover pasta will be softer, but still plenty flavorful.

Freezer. Because of the pasta and dairy in this dish, it isnโ€™t a good idea to freeze and thaw.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different sausage?

Yes, you can replace the turkey sausage with your favorite one, pork sausage, Italian sausage, or even chicken sausage.

Can I freeze the leftover of this pasta?

Because of the pasta and dairy in this dish, it isnโ€™t a good idea to freeze and thaw.
