DIY Drawer Organization Ideas on a Budget

If drawers are your nightmare just like they are for me, you’ll find great inspiration with these 15 Clever and Inexpensive DIY Drawer Organization Ideas.

Especially with kids in the house and husbands that often times are like kids… LOL.

Anyway. I want to organize my girl’s closet. Especially the drawers. That made me think about my dresser drawers and I thought, I’m going to need some serious ideas.

I started looking for inspiration on Pinterest and I found some really clever and incredibly inexpensive DIY drawer organization ideas that put me in the organizing mood right away. I wanted to share these ideas with you all!

Don’t you just love when an organization comes easily because that way it’s easy to maintain?

I’m a graphic designer {NOT an artist} and as such, I’m really methodic and my brain works really symmetric and structured. I need things to fit and to go well together.

Call me crazy. I need balance in everything, from design to drawers. Seriously I’m not exaggerating.  So, because my brain works this way, I have a hard time looking at my girl’s drawers and art shelves LOL.

She’s a kid, so I really control myself understanding she’s a kid and even if she were older, she might not be as organization freak as I am LOL.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy these clever DIY Drawer Organization Ideas as much as I do.

  1. OCD can range from minor to major tendencies. It’s basically having a tendency towards excessive orderliness, perfectionism, and great attention to detail. Using the term as you did is perfectly acceptable! I have a few OCD tendencies and yet also have areas of my life that are totally at odds with those particular tendencies. By accepting they are only a part of who I am, makes life a whole lot less stressful.
Thank you for a great article! HUGS!!

    1. Thank you so much for your input on this!!! I did feel a little worried, I would never want to hurt or offend anybody!

  2. Love your ideas. Please tell me what you used &/or where you found the suspended/hanging earring organizer shown above.

  3. Please don’t use the term OCD to describe your preference for things being neat, orderly, or symmetric. Its not the same. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is an actual mental illness that is absolutely miserable to live with.

    1. Hi Ashley,

I’m really really sorry, it was not my intention at all to offend. I say it in complete positive way, not like criticism. Mom and I always joke because she’s really intense about having things perfect all the time but at the end of the day we all thank her because her home is always clean and nice. I actually knew someone that had OCD but I guess it was not really bad because she has a decent quality of life as long as things are the way she feels comfortable. Anyway, you are right, I should fix that since I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings and make them feel is bad to have things organised and neat. Thank you for letting me know this.

      Hugs
