Family Style Homemade Hash Browns
Do you like hash browns? I love them especially homemade hash browns since we can experiment and add seasoning and ingredients that we love. Potatoes are one of our favorite part of the meal, you can ask my little girl LOL. I love finding new ways to make things just like when I made my Corn Flakes Chicken Tender strips, Yummy and new!
Family Style Homemade Hash Browns
This recipe is easy to make and it’s great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can have fun while making them though just like my kid an I lol! My mom was a great help figuring out how to make these delicious homemade hash browns
Ready to make and be delighted with these Family Style Homemade Hash Browns??? Let’s do it!!!
Ingredients:
- 5-6 Meium grated potatoes {preferably thick}
- 1/2 cup of whole milk
- 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
- 1 egg
- Salt
- Pepper {and any other seasoning you like}
* this measures are approximated since potatoes size can vary and it will depend on how you like the batter.
Directions:
Once the potatoes are grated let’s dry them as much as we can, using paper towels. I put one on the table, spread the potatoes and then place another towel on top and press well so the paper absorbs all the humidity the potatoes have. Let it set for about 5 minutes.
Then place the potatoes in a medium-big bowl and add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
In a frying pan with enough oil to cover at least half of the homemade hash browns and over high heat, we start frying them using a big ice scoop until they are golden brown and flipping them over.
When ready place them on a plate or tray with absorbent paper.
Serve and Enjoy!
What do you think??? have you made hash browns before??? how have you made them???

These look wonderful! I make shredded hash browns all the time but we just fry them up plain, or with some onions and peppers thrown in. The flour and egg remind me of potato latkes, which I also love but don’t make as often. Beautiful picture, pinned :)
Thanks so much Sherri. I was thinking about making them without the flour and egg but I felt like it wouldn’t stick together but I think I’ll give it a try!
Lovely to have you visiting!
