Hey TitiCrafty readers! I’m Stephanie and I blog over at Simply Dream & Create. I’m a science nerd by day and craft crazy by night. I have a huge passion for crafts and I’m constantly learning and exploring the craft world! I’m very excited to be here!

Today I’m going to show you all how to make Homemade Twix bars. I’m a huge sweets fan and when I found the original recipe on High Heels and Grills I knew I had to make them!

What you need:

  • 1 cup salted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups caramel {I used caramel bits}
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 3 cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 300°F. Grease a 9×13 inch pan.

In a medium bowl, beat butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add the flour.

Press the dough evenly into prepared pan. Prick pressed dough all over with a fork to allow even baking.

Bake 30-35 minutes or until the top and edges are lightly golden.  Immediately run a knife around edges to loosen. Cool completely.

Caramel Layer

Melt caramel and cream in a small saucepan over low heat.

Pour caramel over the cooled crust and set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Chocolate Layer

Melt chocolate in the microwave using ten second increments with stirring.

Pour evenly over chilled caramel layer, spreading until it covers the entire surface.

Cool in refrigerator until the chocolate is set.

Don’t they look great! Enjoy the recipe everyone. : ) Thanks for having me Camila!

Till Next time!
